Install the appropriate repo
Once again, we are going to use a repository, so that we are sure that our add-ons are always up to date.
First of all, download the repository zip file, from here. It is called something like repository.beta.emby.kodi followed by a number (version number), if multiple files, always choose the highest number.
Browse to System > Settings > Add-ons screen :
Select install from zip file and browse to the file you have downloaded before :
Wait for notification of install in bottom right corner :
Install Spotify add-on for Kodi
Now that the new Kodi Beta Emby repository is installed, you can installed the Spotify add-on for Kodi.
Browse to Install from repository and select the Kodi Beta Emby repository :
Browse to Music Add-on and Select Spotify :
Confirm install :
Wait for the notification :
and enter your Spotify credentials (you’ll need a Spotify premium for this to work) :
RPi / Raspberry user workaround
- Install the spotify client on a pc with a browser
- Open the spotify client and accept the authentication request in the browser.
- Navigate to kodi userdata\addon_data\plugin.audio.spotify and copy the cache file to the same location on your pi
